Japanese Potato Croquette

First time making this dish amd turned out better than hoped!
Recipe isn’t that hard to follow either.
The mashing of the potatoes is the hardest part.

What you will need:
4-5 medium potato
half medium onion (minced)
1-1.5 lbs beef
1 tbs butter
1 dry bayleaf

1 tbs sugar
1 tbs cooking wine or white wine
1 tbs soy sauce
Salt & Pepper

3 tbs heavy cream
Some fresh basil leaves

Boil potatoes, peel them and mash them. Optional: mash the potatoes over medium to low heat to qet rid of any moisture.

Place the butter into a medium sauce pan. Then add the minced onion and then the beef. Next add the dry baylef. As the beef is cooking add the sugar, satt & pepper, soy sauce, cooking wine or white wine and cook until done. Optional: drain any excess oil or juices.

Next mix both the beef and the mashed potatoes together. Chop up the basil leaves and add it into the mixture. You can leave this out if you do not like the way it tastes. Next add 3 tbs of heavy cream to the mixture until everything is well blended.

Now it is time to have some fun and make whatever shape you’d like! Make sure that you press the mixture really well so it doesn’t fall apart when deep frying.

Deep frying time!! Ready some flour, battered egg, and bread crumbs or panko. Roll your potato shapes into the flour then egg then panko then into the deep frier. Fry until golden brown and place them onto some paper towel to soak up the excess oil.

Voila!!! You are done!! Hope you all enjoy this and have fun making anything in the kitchen.
